NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION FULFILLED: KRONUS FSC CERTIFIED
In November of this year, KRONUS successfully completed the process of certification based on the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC) scheme, which ensures that the company contributes to the preservation of the environment and to economic stability.
In this way, KRONUS confirmed the company’s commitment to responsible forest management and responsible supply chain management. “For us, like for many European companies, not only the quality of the final product and the speed of production, but also raw materials, in particular their origin, are important. The obtained FSC certificate confirms that KRONUS products are made from raw materials originating from forests where forest management is certified”, says Chief Administrative Officer Aleksandrs Hiļevojs, noting that for many years, the company has been advocating conservation policies for forests and supporting the ideas of environmentally responsible, socially beneficial and economically sustainable forest management. This is also evidenced by the fact that in 2017, KRONUS was certified according to the requirements of the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC), as well as according to the requirements of two other systems that belong to the world’s largest forest management and supply chain management systems.
“Now we can guarantee our clients that, when using our packaging solutions, they help preserve the environment and economic stability”, Aleksandrs Hiļevojs notes.
FSC is an independent international forest certification system, to the principles of which, the promotion of environmentally responsible, socially orientated and economically sustainable forest management and global forest resources management belong. Currently, more than 113 million ha of forest in 82 countries are certified according to the Forest Stewardship Council standards.
